Jerry Stone

“I never tried to make art… it just happens for me sometimes when those in front of the lens firmly connect spirit and body. My opening a camera shutter allows that expressive outcome to be grasped on film and/or CMOS sensor. Twenty Nudes is a collection of images made on film and now expressed in digital print; some for the first time. They remain a study of the nude in natural light.”

Jerry Stone is a lifelong Kentuckian with a thirty year IBM career primarily formulating inkjet inks, subsequently producing eight patents and thirty-two published inventions in printing and image processes. He continues a visual art career in photography and collaborative images with other artists and the figure subject, in effect, a performance recorded on negative film. Jerry is now exploring the art of the camera in the digital era.

Jerry has appeared in twenty select juried group and invitational exhibitions – mainly those images created 1982 – 1994 – from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Berkeley, California including “Kentucky Artists 1986” at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. His photographs are also in private collections, Basel to Tokyo, and singularly appeared in Architectural Digest and Muscle & Fitness magazines.
