Namaste greeting at Pashupatinath temple
The man in this photo is gesturing, “Namaste.” It’s a greeting and farewell tradition in Nepal. Loosely translated, it means, “my soul honors your soul.” I love the light in this photo and the sweet demeanor of the man. This was shot at the Hindu temple Pashupatinath. The man placed a tilaka (large, sacred dot) on my forehead and tied a black piece of fabric on my wrist. He told me that black signifies long life.
