Estate Art – Michael Wheeler Originals

Appalachian artist Michael Wheeler was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1952. He was educated at the Carnegie Institute Museum, Carnegie Mellon University, and Ohio University. After completing his education, Wheeler moved to Kentucky to work as a church volunteer. There he met his wife Becky and they settled in the foothills of Appalachia, where his artistic journey began.

Wheeler’s parents were also artists, and they encouraged Michael to develop his artistic talent from an early age. Drawing inspiration from the landscape around him, his work is serene and enticing. His paintings invite the patron to walk the paths, feel the sunlight, and breathe the air that he expresses so uniquely.

Michael Wheeler’s work has earned him numerous awards across the country: Gold Medal, National Scholastic Art Exhibition, New York, 1970: winner in the Kentucky Artist Postcard Series, Bowling Green, 1984: US Art Magazine Award, Arts for the Parks, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, 1989.

Through a cooperating estate, we have several of Wheeler’s original paintings available for purchase. Call (502) 863-2299 for pricing information.
