From her youngest days, Michele MacDonald has been entranced by the richness of the natural realm. That passion took flight in a direction that has been unwavering since she acquired her first camera, a birthday gift from her parents, while in third grade. From then on, she has been trying to capture visual flashes of the remarkable giftsbestowed by nature: the fleeting beats of hummingbird wings, the power stoked by heavenly wildfire burning in the hearts of racehorses, the pure soulful depths of her own terriers’ eyes. Born in Richmond, Virginia, she lives in Lexington, Kentucky, where she writes about horse racing and breeding for a variety of global publications, edits books, selects Thoroughbred bloodstock for clients, and plans trips to Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America to experience unending joy in photographing animals and landscapes.
