Bells at Hotel Yak & Yeti
Bells are a common sight in Nepal. I’ve read they symbolize varying things. They are used while rituals are ongoing, to invite the deity to accept worship and prayers and to drive away evil forces. In Buddhism, I’ve learned they help worshipers concentrate on their prayers. Buddhists sometimes use a bell and dorje (a ritual object symbolizing power) during rituals. The dorje represents skillful means, while the bell denotes wisdom. They also represent male and female attributes.
