Father Norman Anthony Fischer, Jr. (1973-2024) was a gifted artist and devoted Catholic priest who served in the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky. Growing up in Perryville, he found deep inspiration in Kentucky’s natural beauty, which, combined with his Catholic upbringing and exposure to the sacred art of churches, cathedrals, and religious iconography, nurtured his profound love for Christian art.
During his time at Centre College, Father Norman pursued a double major in Art and Psychology, studying under renowned artists Sheldon Tapley and Stephen Rolfe Powell. Though his calling led him to seminary and a life of priestly service, Father Fischer never abandoned his passion for art. He found innovative ways to share his creativity, hosting “Artist Retreats,” generously donating his work to meaningful projects around his community, and seeing his art grace special collections, including a piece acquired by the late Pope St. John Paul II during the Jubilee Year 2000.
We hold an extensive digital collection of Father Norman Fischer’s work, producing limited editions prints on paper and canvas from this archive.
