30 Apr Awakening
Perhaps soon, as the sun rises over our rivers and our lakes shimmer, our trails will reopen to we the people. Once again, we might see the fish moving and fowl soaring; once again, we the people can feast our eyes on the visual cornucopia called Kentucky.
The forest floors still covered in last year’s leaves and needles that continue to stitch themselves back into the fabric of our earth. And from the rim of the bluff, it seems like we can see over the horizon, can hear the grace and peace in the distance raven’s cawing, and hope we can hold on to the feeling that makes poets’ hearts sing.
