Country House declared the winner of The 145th Kentucky Derby. Maximum Security was taken down in the first ever disqualification or for an on-track violation that occurred during the race. There was a tense 30-minute wait for the stewards to announce the reversal of fortunes. A third turn bump altered the outcome of what was a beautiful race yet everyone is safe abet many with broken hearts and dreams. Hats off to the courageous stewards in making Country House with Flavien Prat aboard victorious. And, for racing icon Bill Mott, one of the most talented and gracious trainers in the business – here is a well-deserved victory and many more to you. The Owners Mrs. J. V. Shields Jr., E.J. M. McFadden, Jr. and LNJ Foxwoods (Larry, Nancy and Jamie Roth) deserve a hearty congrats as well as all of the connection. What a hard-fought, rain-drenched, heart-stopping drama-derby.
