The inspired gift must circulate – or it ceases to be –
becoming transformed when a possessor takes custody,
redefined in finite terms and, contained in boundaries.
This is where the extraordinary becomes mundane
and inspiration turns into property – until possession becomes
like the quirt that leaves a whelp on the mustang’s soul or,
a wounded dove held with compassion but, never let go.
